RPAC Summer Camp presents James and the Giant Peach! The Richland Performing Arts Center’s Summer Theatre Academy presents James and the Giant Peach. The Academy is a two week camp that meets every summer to put on a musical, requiring immense amounts of talent and effort on the part of both the cast and the directors. Open to all schools in the area, this program is sponsored by the Learning Lamp and is limited to the first 60 students that enroll.
Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach is a fantastic show for the whole family to enjoy. This is the tale of a boy, his insect friends, and their journey across the ocean on a giant peach, hence the show name. When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion which results in a tremendous peach – and launches a journey of enormous proportions. Suddenly, James finds himself in the center of the gigantic peach among human-sized insects with equally oversized personalities, but after it falls from the tree and rolls into the ocean, the group faces hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements. Thanks to James’ quick wit and creative thinking, the residents learn to live and work together as a family. The dangerous voyage is a success, but the adventure takes a whole new twist once they land on the Empire State Building.
This show is sure to be a great one, Dahl is the genius behind Willy Wonka. Bring the whole family out for an enjoyable evening as presented by some very talented students. Order your tickets today by visiting the website! The shows are June 24 and 25 at 7 pm, be sure not to miss out!
