Johnstown’s Vision 2025 Riverwall Revitalization Charrette

In 1936, The Army Corps of Engineers began construction on the federally-sponsored Johnstown Local Flood Protection Project, which resulted in 9.2 miles of channelized concrete river walls that meander through the City of Johnstown to this day. By 2016, a new understanding of science, art, and architecture has evolved for urban flood control. V25 leadership and the City of Johstown have been coordinating with the Army Corps on preliminary paths of exploration for the city’s floodwalls.
